Iran's Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence against Arghavan Fallahi, a 25-year-old political prisoner. Arghavan was arrested on 25 January 2025 in Parand and charged with baghi for alleged political activities. She spent approximately five months in solitary confinement in Evin Prison, where she was subjected to intensive interrogation and reported physical and psychological torture. On 1 July 2026, Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced her to death. The Supreme Court has now confirmed that sentence, placing her life in immediate danger. Arghavan had previously been imprisoned with her father, Nasrollah Fallahi, a political prisoner from the 1980s who remains in Evin Prison.
